According to NdS, the workshop itself was rather large with rough walls and concrete floor.
In the south-east corner would have been the latrine, and in the north-east corner would have been remains of a small wall that could have been a large ruined hearth. The excavation of this workshop was started on 5th November 1903.

The walls of the room were bare and unpainted, and the floor was of opus signinum.
In the heights of the north and west walls could be seen the white plaster of the upper room.
A small doorway, with large threshold made of pieces of lava, at the left end of the north wall led into a small room.
